Gorkha is situated in the western part of Nepal. The main attraction at Gorkha is the16th century royal palace. Also of interest is the temple of the most powerful and popular god, Kalika.This is decorated with ancient art and architecture. Three mountains ranges, the Manasalu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal which include more than 40 mountains, surround the area. Here you can see the culture of the western ethnic groups.

Gorkha is a scenic and historical hill town lying almost midway between Kathmandu and Pokhara. King Prithvi Narayan Shah the Great, the founding father of Modern Nepal was born here. It was from this very place that the King began his campaign to unify all the then small kingdoms formulating the present kingdom of Nepal.Situated on a hill overlooking the snowy Himalayan peaks is the beautiful Gorkha Durbar, a fort and an artistic temple complex built in the 16th century.Treks to the Manasalu Region start from Gorkha and treks to the Annapurna Circuit can be started from here too. Gorkha is also best combined with wildlife safari tours in the Royal Chitwan National Park.

How can  reach Gorkha Durbar?

Gorkha Durbar is situated high above Gorkha on a knife-edge ridge. To reach Gorkha Durbar, go north from the bus station and follow the main cobbled streets through the bazaar. Then you have to climb a 1500 stone step stairway, which starts just before the post office.

Day 01: Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Free day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley such as Boudha Nath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square (B)
Day 03: Drive to Gorkha 1143 m. and same day visit the Gorkha palace here to begin your sightseeing of the region.Climb the palace steps from the bottom of the hill, all the way to the top, climbing about one thousand seven hundred steps (1700), You will be glad you got to the top. On a clear sky day, you can view Himalayan range including spectacular view of Manaslu and Himalchuli Mountains, and panoramic views of the valleys. Over night at Gotkha bazaar. (B.L.D) Day 04: Hike to Gyampesal 1230 m. 6 hrs over night at lodge. (B.L.D)
Day 05: Hike to Arughat 550 m. 6 hrs over night at lodge. (B.L.D)
Day 06: Drive back to Kathamndu 6 hrs. (B.L)
Day 07: Final departure to airport for your own destination. (B)
