Jomsom Muktinath Trekking

The Jomsom Trek is indeed a classical trek, essentially the final third of the Annapurna Circuit, follows the Kali Gandaki Valley between the soaring peak of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri. Finally, it emerges to the north of the main Himalayan range, on the dry, desert- like Tibetan Plateau. A several days walk beyond Jomsom, takes you the final destination, Muktinath, the holy temple. This trek allows access to the high mountains of the Himalayas within a reasonable timeframe and without ascending to extreme altitude. You will then return to Pokhara by taking a flight from Jomsom.

Gokyo Lake View Trek

This trek features the unbelievable scenery of the remote Gokyo Valley and its festival of beautiful turquoise lakes, moonscape-like glaciers, and stunning mountain vistas that include Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu - four of the eight highest peaks on earth! The 360-degree view from Gokyo Ridge is the best in the Khumbu! The beginning of this trek is the same as hiking to Everest Base Camp. On the way, we'll stay two nights in the village of Namche Bazaar to acclimatize. Namche is considered the trading center for the Khumbu region, and people walk from as far away as Tibet every Saturday to sell their wares here. This is also the hub onto which each trail converges, so yaks and people compete for space in this amphitheater style city. After visiting Namche, we’ll head up the valley leaving the usual Everest trail and following the rivers run off from the Ngozumpa glacier. After two days we will stop again in the village of Machhermo for another rest day and the chance to hike up Machhermo RI. Our Next stop will be the Gokyo Valley. Your arrival into this high mountain valley called Gokyo is welcomed by a string of cobalt blue lakes that continue for the 3-hour hike to Gokyo Village, which sits at the foot of Gokyo Ri (18,300 ft) a huge black mound of rock and dirt. The next morning, you're invited to take the 3-hour hike to the summit of this black, rocky mound to witness the 360-degree Himalayan view offered only from this vantage point. The Himalayas stand like giants guarding the border into Tibet. From Gokyo Ri you'll see much more than Mount Everest -- there are magnificent views of many of the other 8000-meter peaks from here as well.(Best organizer for gokyo valley trek, gokyo valley trekking, gokyo lake Everest base camp trek, gokyo lake map, Everest trekking, Gokyo weather, khumbu region trek)

Care for porters & staff:

All of our staffs are well paid and insured. They are provided sufficient equipments, and emergency helicopter evacuation in case of emergency. All of our staffs are paid regular remuneration and bonuses. Training and development opportunity is also provided to each staff to enhance their personality.

We operate the trek according to the 5 guidelines of International Porter Protection Group (IPPG).
1: Clothing appropriate to season and altitude must be provided to porters for protection from cold, rain and snow. This may mean: windproof jacket and trousers, fleece jacket, long johns, suitable footwear (leather boots in snow), socks, hat, gloves and sunglasses.
2: Above the tree line porters should have a dedicated shelter, either a room in a lodge or a tent (the trekkers' mess tent is no good as it is not available till late evening), a sleeping pad and a blanket (or sleeping bag). They should be provided with food and warm drinks, or cooking equipment and fuel.
3: Porters should be provided with the same standard of medical care as you would expect for yourself, and life insurance.
4: Porters should not be paid off because of illness/injury without the leader or the trekkers assessing their condition carefully. The person in charge of the porters (sirdar) must let their trek leader or the trekkers know if a sick porter is about to be paid off. Failure to do this has resulted in many deaths. Sick/injured porters should never be sent down alone, but with someone who speaks their language and understands their problem, along with a letter describing their complaint. Sufficient funds should be provided to cover cost of rescue and treatment.
5: No porter should be asked to carry a load that is too heavy for their physical abilities (maximum: 20 kg on Kilimanjaro, 25 kg in Peru and Pakistan, 30 kg in Nepal). Weight limits may need to be adjusted for altitude, trail and weather conditions; experience is needed to make this decision.

Contribution to the local communities:

Everest Encounter trekking invests its certain portion of profit for charitable cause. We sponsor school kids, poor and needy people from remote areas. We have been contributing children who are in need for their education. Besides we also run community base environmental projects. We have also put our effort into road construction, drinking water supply, and community health service in some remote and underprivileged area. Sometimes we also launch awareness programs against environmental degradation due to unhealthy practices, social problems, superstitions, old beliefs still prevailing in our society that have been proved to be barriers to social development. We have noticed tremendous changes in people due to such campaigns and interaction programs. Recently we have set up EEN Social foundation which is eyeing to expand its charitable programs to most of the disadvantaged and underdeveloped remote areas of Nepal & Shankha devi higher secondary school.

Minimal Impact:

We firmly believe that nature is the biggest asset. We never undertake any activity that goes against nature. Our team is well-trained and aware of possible impact to environment due to the unregulated tourism adventures. So we discharge our duties very seriously towards preservation of nature as well. Especially for tented camping trek, we always use kerosene to cook and our rubbish is well disposed, or carry out all with us. This leaves minimal impact of our activities to nature, and helps it to exist in its natural splendor.
